Madi moved to the Chico in 2013 and was intrigued by the prospect of working with cattle outside a traditional setting- she’d always wanted to be a vet. When not in the field, Madi began spending time in the shop and her talent was quickly apparent. Today she is the manager of the shop and is critical in the design process.
Andrea began as a seasonal wrangler at Zapata Ranch, which we manage for the Nature Conservancy. She grew up in California and always had a passion for horses and riding, and went to school for art. In 2016 she moved to the Chico and merged her two passions, and began learning leathercraft full-time. Today she oversees all of our online orders and many custom projects.
Tara joined Ranchlands as a leather apprentice at the beginning of 2021, coming to us from Portland by way of Montana and Montreal.  While she's never worked with leather before as a medium, she has a background in fine art, sewing, and grew up in a rural setting so is excited to be back in a space with horses, livestock, and wildlife.
